開懷大笑 laid 是 lay 的過去式，有"下蛋"和"準備(桌子)"兩個意思
 
C.
Guest:  Waiter, waiter, will the pancakes be long?
Waiter: No, sir, round.
 
開懷大笑 "long"可以表示 "(時間)長" 或 "(形狀)長"， 這裡waiter誤會了客人的意思，以為他是在問煎餅是否是長形的。pancake是煎餅，通常是圓形的。
